  • >> If you are passionate about the study of foreign language and foreign Cultures, the U.S. Department of State announces merit-based scholarships for American high school students to study abroad:
    • The National Security Language Initiative for Youth offers opportunities to study one of seven critical foreign languages: Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Hindi, Korean, Persian (Tajiki), Russian, and Turkish. 
    • The Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study Abroad Program offers opportunities to spend an academic year in countries that may include Bosnia & Herzegovina, Egypt, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mali, Morocco, Oman, Philippines, South Africa, Thailand, Tunisia, and Turkey.
    • The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program offers opportunities to spend an academic year in Germany.

Mark Keith Wins ACL's Meritus Award

Mark Keith, RHS Latin teacher, won the 2014 American Classical League's Meritus Award for sustained and distinguished service to the organization and the classics profession at their annual gathering in June at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg.
